Have you ever heard someone say or caught yourself saying, “Someday I’d love to write a book…”?
I used to say that too.
Truth be told, I never really imagined myself as a writer. Years ago, I wrote an article that was published in one of my professional magazines, and I remember how proud I felt. But like many things in life, that passion took a back seat for a while.
It wasn’t until I retired—and pivoted my purpose—that writing found its way back to me.
That’s when AGE-GILITY was born.
A message, a movement, and ultimately… a series of books designed to inspire others to live vibrantly into their next chapter of life.
But here’s the part most people don’t talk about…
I had no idea where to start.
So I did what I now encourage others to do—I sought guidance. I joined a publishing coaching program because I believe deeply in surrounding yourself with people who can help you achieve your goals faster and smarter.
And along the way, I discovered something important about myself:
I am a creator.
I love the process of researching, writing, refining ideas, and even designing my book covers. That part feels natural to me. It lights me up.
But marketing? Promotion? That’s been my biggest challenge.
Because if I’m honest, promoting myself doesn’t come naturally. And yet, as a self-published author, I’ve learned that writing the book is only half the journey.
The other half?
Getting it into readers’ hands.
And in today’s world, especially on Amazon, that often comes down to reviews. Verified purchasers reading your book and taking the time to leave feedback—what I like to call a “kind review.”
I’ve taken a very organic approach to sharing my work. Through my local community, social media, and personal connections, I ask people to read and, if they feel inspired, to leave a review.
The books are selling… but I’ll be honest—it can feel like pulling teeth sometimes.
Recently, I had a moment of clarity.
If I truly want to reach more people—the people who need to hear the AGE-GILITY message—I need to expand beyond my comfort zone. I need support, strategy, and a willingness to grow in areas that don’t come easily to me.
And that, in itself, is part of the journey.
Because here’s the truth:
Following your passion isn’t always simple.
It takes time.
It takes patience.
And it requires an investment in yourself.
Today, I have four books published, more ideas waiting to be written, and what my husband jokingly calls “my expensive hobby.”

But I see it differently.
My passion is my purpose.
And if something is calling you—a dream, a book, a new direction—don’t wait for the perfect time.
Start where you are.
Because someday has a way of becoming never… if you don’t begin.
Loved one of my books? Don’t keep it a secret! 😉
Leave a review on Amazon and help other women find their path to living with AGE-GILITY. Your voice matters more than you know.
Bye for now 💛
