Tuesday Truths – November 7, 2023
Ahh, November……
November is also known for:
- Autumn Splendor:
Trees shed their leaves, creating a colorful carpet on the ground.
The earthy scent of fallen leaves, combined with the golden hues of foliage, makes this month a visual and olfactory delight.Election Day:
The first Tuesday ……Today is in the States. So, do your civic duty and get out and vote.
2. Thanksgiving:
One of November’s most notable holidays is Thanksgiving, celebrated on the fourth Thursday in the United States.
It’s a time for gratitude, family gatherings, and feasting on our traditional dishes like turkey, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie!
3. “Mo”vember:
November has also become synonymous with the “Movember” movement, which raises awareness for men’s health issues, particularly:
- prostate cancer,
- testicular cancer, and
- mental health.
Men growing mustaches throughout the month is the symbol that stands for healthier men and a healthier world……
and to show support and raise funds for research and treatment.

4. November: The “No” Month for Setting Boundaries:
I went down the rabbit hole researching the “no” month of November from “No Nut November,” according to Wikipedia, is an annual internet challenge of sexual abstinence for men to…… not eating nuts (peanuts, walnuts, pistachios, etc.) for Nut Allergy Awareness month in November!

Being a passionate health and life coach, I’m going with the notion of November being the “No” month centering around setting boundaries and practicing self-care.
As the year nears its end, people often feel stressed and overwhelmed, juggling work, personal commitments, and holiday preparations. Does this sound familiar?
It is a time to start saying “no” to people, places, and things that drain your energy.
Boundaries benefit one’s…………….
- Peace of mind
- Expectations
- Relationships
- Ability to deal with these situations.

Here are some reasons why November is an ideal time for saying “No” and establishing personal boundaries:
- Self-Care: With the days getting shorter and the weather colder, November encourages us to slow down and care for ourselves.
It’s a time to recharge, unwind, and prioritize your mental and physical well-being.
- Reflection: As the year concludes, November provides an opportunity for self-reflection.
Setting boundaries allows us to assess our goals, priorities, and values, ensuring we move into the next year with clarity and purpose.
- Preparing for the Holidays: November marks the beginning of the holiday season.
Setting boundaries helps us manage our time, energy, and resources effectively, preventing burnout and stress during this festive period.
So……November is more than just the month before the end of the year.
- It’s a time of transition,
- reflection, and
- setting boundaries.
November has NOW become synonymous with self-care and the importance of saying “No” when necessary.
So, embrace the spirit of November,
take time for yourself, and use this month as an
opportunity to establish the boundaries that will lead
you
into a new year,
with a
AGE-GILITY.
Bye for now.
