Tuesday Truths September 30, 2025
Welcome to Tuesday Truths.
Recent events in my life have prompted me to pause and reflect on my thoughts on embracing the GIFT of Today.
On one hand, I had the immense joy of celebrating my 55th high school reunion. Can you believe it? Fifty-five years since we walked across that stage together, full of dreams and plans for the future.
It was wonderful reconnecting with classmates—laughing, reminiscing about old stories, and reflecting on the many different paths our lives have taken or should have taken.
Some of us traveled, some built families, some started encore careers, and most are simply enjoying retirement. The common thread was the gratitude for still being here, still being able to share these moments.
Then my husband and I celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary and our 53 years of our journey together.
However, in that same week, life handed me a very different kind of reminder.
The unexpected passing of a friend and colleague whom I had seen the night before. That news literally stopped me in my tracks!
It was a sharp contrast to the joy of reunion and anniversary celebration, and this reality brought me back to the fragility and preciousness of our time here.
There’s a quote by Bill Keane that I love, and I am sure you have heard it many times. “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present.”
That truly resonated with me this week. Because the truth is, we only have today.
With AGE-GILITY, a concept I’ve developed to emphasize the importance of agility and adaptability as we age, I remind myself and others that yes, we can learn from the past. Yes, we can plan for the future—but the real living, the real power, happens in the present moment.
In fact, that’s why I wrote my new book, The Power of a Growth Purpose System: Create Your GPS Roadmap for Your Life’s Journey. https://a.co/d/i6tcwyy
It’s all about aligning your goals, passions, and values to move forward with purpose, regardless of the stage of life you’re in.
Because life can only be fully understood when we look back, but it must always be lived moving forward. And our “GPS” can help us navigate that journey with clarity and courage.
Therefore, I challenge you: What will you do to seize the day? What action will you take to make today count?
Will you reach out to a loved one, step into something new, pause to notice the beauty around you, or be grateful for your life? It could be as simple as taking a few minutes to appreciate the sunrise, or as profound as forgiving someone who has wronged you. The key is to be fully present in these moments.
Just as we can’t change yesterday, we don’t know what tomorrow will hold. But today—this very moment—is ours to live, to cherish, and to celebrate.
Carpe diem, my friends. Let’s embrace today’s Tuesday Truths with love, with gratitude, with courage, and with purpose.
Bye for now!
