Tuesday Truths – “Everything You Desire is Past Your Fear of Change.”
July 19, 2022
What a concept!
If only we could step back to get some clarity of where we are stuck (relationship, weight, career, health, & money) and then “lean in” to take “ACTION.”
Sheryl Sandberg, former Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Facebook and author, coined the term “Leaning In.” It means women doing what’s necessary to become more courageous, confident, and successful, even when they may not want to, while moving toward the idea of an authentic life choice.
Taking “ACTION” can remove doubt and fears. You and you alone can respond to what has you stuck and how to make changes in your life to reach your goals. It is our nature to stay comfortable and safe where we are.
The first step: is to clarify what has worked or not worked for you in the past and WHY. It’s like taking an inventory.
There will always be obstacles when setting and achieving goals; however, obstacles give you leverage to make the necessary small changes in taking action. Once you do one of your actions, the “BEING” comes easily.
What is your “Realm of Possibility”: able to be done or to happen? It is a mind shift that anything is feasible, imaginable, possible, and likely to achieve.
However, to transform your “goals” or “things” around you must transform yourself to make the change. Thank yourself for putting yourself out there and saying “YES” to being open to something new & inspiring!
Step two: Make sure your Vision/Goal is clear and solid yet has the flexibility to pivot when necessary. Focus on the activities first of achieving the same attainable steps instead of the total outcome.
“The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People” talks about your LOCUS– that’s L-O-C-U-S– your Locus of control. The concept was developed by Julian B. Rodder in 1954 and has since become an aspect of personality psychology.
So, “LOCUS of control” can influence your response to the events in your life and your motivation to take action. There are two types of control of recognizing what you have control over, Intrinsic versus external locus control and Extrinsic, where you cannot control circumstances. Things happen that are entirely out of your control. Like the weather, war, or a Pandemic.
“We can’t control the winds, but we can adjust our sails.”

Thirdly, any change requires a personal EFFORT, including time, energy, and money. “Real of self” and having convection to make any change.
What are you willing to do to get unstuck to move your life forward? We live in a cause-and-effect universe. It is what it is.
You have only two things in your control:
- Your attitude is a way of thinking or feeling about something reflected in your behavior.
- Your actions are the process of achieving an aim.
You will know when you are genuinely ready to make the changes to attain the desired state of your mind, body, and spirit.
Need some guidance to re-imagine yourself taking the steps of a lasting transformation? I’m here to help get you in motion and past the FEAR of change.
“Change can be scary, but you know what is scarier? Allowing FEAR to stop you from GROWING, EVOLVING, and PROGRESSING.”
