This past week in the US, we celebrated July 4, Independence Day from Great Britain. I even took the day off from my Tuesday Truth Lives!
Somehow, for me, it was a “Circle of Life” week of celebration!
On the 3rd, we returned to my husband’s “Small Town Americana” annual family and friends “porch party” to watch the county fireman’s parade to the town’s park for the carnival. We have attended an event for the last 50 years, realizing how fast the years have passed.
The kids (our nieces and nephews) who were babies back then now have children ranging from 2 months to 17 years and have taken over the tradition of sitting on the curb collecting the candy tossed out of the fire trucks and floats as they go by. And the tradition of writing in BIG caulk letters in the street in front of the 3rd generation of my sister-in-law’s home……..“STOP HERE,” for the bands to play.
Our parent’s generation, who used to sit in front on their lawn chairs, are all gone, and we are now the SENIORS. YIKES!!!
The Circle of Life……….
Later that weekend, We had a “Celebration of Life” for Jack, a co-worker, hunting, fishing, golfing, and dear friend of my husband who passed, more unexpectedly than not, in his winter home in Arizona.
After losing our parents and older siblings, we now face losing more friends of our age and younger. Something that we all must accept, however, not without regret
The Circle of Life……….
That same afternoon, we were off to a wedding celebration on the shores of Canandaigua Lake! A beautiful SUNNY and FUN-FILLED evening for a LOVELY young couple with their whole life filled with love and memories with friends, their pets, and family ahead of them!
The Circle of Life……..
No matter what decade of life you are at…….Life needs to be embraced and CELEBRATED each and every day!
