Tuesday Truths April. 29
Let’s find your Stretch Zone.
One of mine is Public Speaking, and this is why I am here weekly!
This past weekend, I had the joy of cheering on a fellow member of Rochester Toastmasters Club 476—the amazing Che’ Hagins—at the district-level speaker competition, and the equally excellent Sean Flynn, my mentor and last year’s recipient, as the Contest Toastmaster! https://rochestertoastmasters.com

Watching these speakers take the stage reminded me of something I don’t talk about often: How Toastmasters continues to challenge and stretch me beyond my comfort zone.
I genuinely enjoy public speaking and the constant growth it offers.
I often say, “It’s about progression, not perfection.”
I’m sure you have heard many speakers and interviewees do and trust me—nothing will train your ear faster than listening to filler words like um, so, you know, and like used on repeat! 😅
It can sound “like” – nails on the chalkboard! YIKES!!
But what stood out most this weekend was the variety of speakers.
Some were introverts who’ve worked their way up with persistence and grit.
Others were natural extroverts, lighting up the stage with ease.
Which one are you or could you be?
Yet, they all shared one thing: they could tell a story that made us laugh, reflect, and feel something real.
We all have stories.
And we all have something inside us that can inspire others.
Therefore, here’s your Tuesday Truth Call to Action:
Find something that challenges you!
Until next week……. Step into that stretch zone, even if it feels a little scary.
Growth lives just beyond your comfort and that is also part of living with AGE-GILITY!
Bye for now!
