Over a week home from my trip to Ireland, I am still in that time zone of eating, pooping, and sleeping! It’s OK to say “pooping!” It is a natural function we all do to eliminate the waste & toxins from our bodies. No SHAME or GULT here!
Months ago, I reached out to a fellow coach working on an advanced certification and needed a client regarding Sleep. Well, overwhelmed fell work through on her end.
This week, the light bulb went off in my head while preparing for my FB Sleep Challenge. I coach on nutrition and the importance of movement, the first two of the BIG THREE PILLARS of reversing aging, and I would have to train and coach myself on the third…….SLEEP!
To review from the last week’s FB LIVE, Sleep is essential to every process in the body, affecting our physical and mental functioning for the next day in Mind (emotional), Body (physical), and Spirit (connection to that is greater than self)). In addition, it affects our ability to fight disease and increases the risk of chronic illnesses.
Lack of Sleep affects our development of immunity, our metabolism for weight gain, and our eating patterns. Sleep is an essential function that allows your body and mind to reset and recharge, leaving you fresh and alert when you wake.
Sleep can and will vary from person to person. Most adults require 7-9 hours of Sleep each night. Unfortunately, up to 35% of adults in the U.S. don’t get enough Sleep, including me. More critical is QUALITY over QUANTITY.
