Today I want to give you an update on something many of you know Iāve been exploring for years⦠intermittent fasting.https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/wellness-and-prevention/intermittent-fasting-what-is-it-and-how-does-it-work
If youāve followed my journey, you know Iām always researching, learning, and trying things that may help us flow through lifeās decades with greater health, vitality, and what I call AGE-GILITYāliving with adaptability, purpose, and vibrancy.
And today I can honestly say, Iām still practicing āintermittent fasting.ā
For years now, Iāve naturally maintained about a 10ā12+ hour fasting window daily. Itās become less of a ādietā and more of a healthy lifestyle.
And for me, lifestyle matters. Because quick fixes rarely create lasting results.
Now, if you remember my previous experiences, I experimented with a much longer fasting approach to help address inflammation and a severe case of eczema.
- I learned a tremendous amount.
- Some lessons were hard-earned.
- Some taught me that more extreme is not always better.
But those experiences eventually led me to something I continue to practice today.https://michelerase.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=1957&action=edit
Iām currently on my 6thāor maybe even 7thāround of a 5-Day Fasting Mimicking Diet (FMD), done every 90 days.https://share.google/3T2ekjm13IchDetXQ
And this has become something that feels sustainable for ME.
The reason it caught my attention is because itās designed to support healthy aging and cellular renewal.. while still nourishing your body.
No⦠I wonāt make your eyes glaze over with all the scientific words today.
I know some of you are science geeks like me⦠and some of you are sayingā¦
āMichele⦠just tell me if it helps!ā š
So, hereās what Iāve personally noticed.
First, my eczema clearedā¦ā¦That alone felt life-changing.
Second, I feel more vibrant than ever.
And when we talk AGE-GILITY⦠vibrancy matters.
Now, let me be transparent, I still have to take medication.
My journey isnāt about perfection. Itās about learning what helps me live my best life.
I still believe deeply that:
- Food is medicine.
- You are what you eat.
Iām not perfect.
But I make choices every day to eat cleaner.
- Non-GMO when possible
- Organic when I can.
- Less processed foods
- Nourishing my body with more intention.
Because healthy aging isnāt built in one day, itās built through repeated choices.
Now letās talk about one important thingā¦ā¦. Intermittent fasting isnāt just about losing weight.
Yes, weight management can be a nice bonus.
But the benefits can go far beyond the scale.
⨠Improved focus.
Many people notice greater mental clarity during fasting periods.
⨠Reduced inflammation.
Inflammation sits at the root of so many chronic health concerns.
⨠Better digestion.
Giving your digestive system a break may allow your body to function more efficiently.
And when combined with healthy nutritionā¦
- Movement
- Strength training
- Good Sleep
- Stress reduction
We create a lifestyle that supports longevity.
Some experts compare healthy fasting patterns with overall lifestyle approaches, such as the Mediterranean way of eating, because both focus on supporting long-term health.
And thatās what Iām afterā¦ā¦. Not just adding years to lifeā¦..But adding LIFE to years.
Because AGE-GILITY isnāt simply agingā¦ā¦..Itās flowing through lifeās changes with
- strength
- purpose
- and adaptability
Therefore, todayās Tuesday Truth is simple:
Health isnāt built from extremesā¦ā¦. Health is built from consistency.
- Small choices
- Repeated over time.
- One healthy decision at a time.
Iād love to hear from YOU.
Have you ever tried intermittent fasting, Long-term fasting, or FMD?
What has worked for you?

And until next Tuesdayā¦
Keep movingā¦Keep growingā¦
And keep flowing into your next decade with AGE-GILITY. šāØ
Bye for now!
