Tuesday Truths – February 13, 2024
It’s Galentine’s Day when we Honor the women in our lives. the celebration that has been gaining momentum over the years!
Last year, I blogged about how the idea was conveyed on the 16th episode of the second season of Parks & Recreation.
The idea skyrocketed in popularity, and businesses created all sorts of promotions to honor the celebration! https://nationaltoday.com/galentines-day/

While Valentine’s Day typically emphasizes romantic love, which I am ALL INTO IT. However, this day is all about celebrating ……the incredible women in our lives.
So, grab your favorite beverage (it’s 5 o’clock somewhere), and let’s dive into why Galentine’s Day is so important and why the women in our lives deserve recognition.
Female Friendship:
Galentine’s Day celebrates the power of female friendship. The bonds we form with other women are invaluable; they provide support, laughter, and understanding in ways that are unique and profound.
Whether it’s a childhood friend, a college roommate, or a colleague turned confidante, these relationships enrich our lives immeasurably.
Therefore, Galentine’s Day gives us the perfect opportunity to honor these connections and express gratitude for the women who stand by us through thick and thin.
- My close high school girlfriends
- My close work friends started out single & wild; we were at each other’s weddings, watched their children grow, and supported each other through divorces and the loss of partners.
- The strong women in my family …..My mother, aunts for my who set the example and bar high for me, my sisters & cousins.
Empowerment and Solidarity:
In a world where women are still fighting for equality and recognition, Galentine’s Day serves as a reminder of the strength and resilience found in female solidarity.
It’s a day to lift each other up, celebrate each other’s achievements, and reaffirm our commitment to supporting one another.
By coming together and acknowledging the unique experiences and challenges we face as women, we empower ourselves and inspire future generations.
Self-Love and Self-Care:
Galentine’s Day isn’t just about celebrating external friendships; it’s also an opportunity for self-love and self-care.
However, as women, we often prioritize the needs of others above our own, it is essential to take time to appreciate ourselves and practice self-compassion.
Whether it’s treating ourselves to a spa day, indulging in our favorite hobbies, or simply practicing gratitude for our strengths and accomplishments.
Galentine’s Day is a day to remind us that self-love is a vital aspect of overall well-being.
Gratitude and Appreciation:
Lastly, Galentine’s Day is a time to express gratitude and appreciation for the women who enrich our lives.
The Century Club of Rochester Women’s Club. I “found my people,” who embrace community, wellness, friendship, LIVING in the present and thriving into the future.
So, whether it’s a heartfelt thank you, a thoughtful gesture, or simply spending quality time together, let the women in your life know how much they mean to you.
Take a moment to reflect on the ways they’ve supported, inspired, and uplifted you, and make a conscious effort to reciprocate that love and support.
In conclusion, Galentine’s Day is more than just a trendy celebration; it’s a meaningful reminder of the importance of female:
- Friendship
- Empowerment
- Solidarity
So, TODAY, February 13th, let’s celebrate the incredible women in our lives and continue to:
- Uplift
- Support
- Inspire one another.
